As I think about the Holidays, I remembered that you should NEVER give a pet as a gift for a shitload of reasons: allergies, responsibility, financial obligations, time, don't know about the breed, etc. However, if you're a family and the parents do want to get a pet ... wait until AFTER the holidays. Many pets given as gifts will end up in animal shelters because people aren't prepared to take care of a pet. So, if you do want a pet, go to an animal shelter after the holidays and recscue a pet or two. I thought the Patriot Act was dead, but it looks like it got extended "as is" for another 6 months. And it looks like the U.S. Goverment is spying on it's own citizens and marking leftie groups as terrorist organizations ... but right-wing organizations seem to NOT make the list. Isn't that fucking funny .... NOT!
